When it comes to the modern times, millions of people have more tools to exchange their information, they can resort to talking on the phones, or chat online via MSN or Email. These ways are preferred most by modern people, for they are convenient and fast, time-saving and economical, helping one to get real-time communication about up-to-the-minute changes in his life. However, an increasing number of radio amateurs are booming up and bring along the resurgence of ham radio.
Admittedly, this is a hobby to the enthusiasts of those old ham two-way radios. The pleasure and enjoyment, according to them, lie in their ability to make their own antennas and transmit signals in Morse code. Many teenagers also take delight in making friends and talking to people of different ages in this way, for it is more serious and exciting, and what is the most important, this communication method is rather vintage and unique.
What do you think of this hobby? Imagine you are parents and feed and clothe your family, will you allow your kids to develop interest in studying such out-of-date stuff? Many parents may argue that it is up to their children to make their choices, while I want to say that we can help our children to be wiser in thinking critically about their choices.
We live in an information age, stuffed with so many amazingly fantastic ways of communication. For example, we can purchase tote handbags or fashion shoes in online shops. E-shopping is considered a best way to pick out the favorite things without going outdoors, while everything has its own strengths and weaknesses. Shopping online, we can not see the goods on sale in person; accordingly at times we might be cheated by our own eyes or first impression. We might think the wholesale wedding dresses are cheap sold online, but have you ever been advised to buy some wedding accessories by the overly enthusiastic online shopkeepers? Quite probably you end your e-shopping with something surplus, yet we have to admit it is your own fault for you were so convincible and credulous.
So in this sense, we adults even can be taken in while dealing with our personal affairs, let alone our inexperienced children. Don’t you think it is time-wasting to let your sons spend so much time studying those old antiques? I thereby call up the parents to ask them to get down to business, do something more meaningful in modern times.
